8.9 Why do fools fall in love?

Screenshot-694

Love was in the air for the Kyoti family.  No sooner had Nicola broken up with boyfriend Timothy than she rushed off to the park to meet her next victim true love.

Screenshot-695

Spencer Funke couldn’t resist her charms, expecially when she gave him an amazing massage.

Screenshot-696

It wasn’t long before they were a couple, but then Spencer had to suddenly dash off and use the toilet before things could go any further.

Screenshot-698

Nicola made the most of Spencer being inconvenienced by popping across the road to the Plaza to flirt with Ani Jone;  mooching a good meal from her at the same time.  Nicola had an ‘interesting’ approach to romancing, to say the least.

When Spencer returned, she asked him to join her at the theatre, and promplty dumped him in front of the large crowd leaving the show.

Screenshot-40

Her aunt Emma Mabel was one of those leaving the show and was somewhat ashamed to see her niece behaving so badly, especially towards one of her many friends.

Screenshot-121

The next day, Nicola invited Ani over, romanced her, and promptly broke up with her.

Screenshot-118

Michael looked at his daughter with despair.  Wasn’t this the third relationship she’d had in as many days?  He would never understand that girl – how could he have failed so badly as a parent that she was the result?

Screenshot-32

Love was also in the air for Wesley, who was hoping to soon top his career.  His relationship with colleague and close friend Jinny Bloomwood was eventually becoming something more.

Screenshot-56

He invited his boss, Joel Garcia, around that evening to talk about work.  When Gemma heard that Joel was rich, she got chatting to him, and the next day she invited him round to talk some more.

Screenshot-47

Joanna Kyoti came back from work at the Police Station to find both of her sisters flirting with some guys.  This was yet another of Nicola’s many conquests, and she couldn’t keep up with her, but she was worried about what Gemma was getting herself into: flirting with their uncle’s boss, and whilst Nicola was around to be a bad influence on her.  Joanna despaired.  It was getting harder and harder to be around her sisters.

Screenshot-54

Sure enough, Nicola got the next boy, Andrew, to agree to be her boyfriend, and them promptly dumped him as well.  Rae went out to see the boy and help pick up the pieces – she couldn’t help but wonder if she’d be spending the rest of her life trying to mop up the mistakes Nicola was making.

Screenshot-63

Wesley saw Joanna was becoming quite distressed and he implored her not to give in, to stay strong, to be the person she was and not be swayed by everyone else, but Joanna wasn’t sure she could be strong much longer.  She felt as though her sanity was hanging by a thread.

Screenshot-134

When Rae decided to go and read up on her charisma skilling after work, Nicola decided she’d accompany her mum to the library.  She was delighted to get there and find James, the boy that had rejected her first kiss, was there.  Duping him into becoming her boyfriend and then breaking his heart was the most delicious pleasure she’d experienced yet…

Screenshot-192

…closely followed by doing the same to her former friend Carey, who’d rejected both her and Jono’s advances not so long ago.

Whilst Nicola was busy dumping her sixth partner…

Screenshot-123

…Joel became Gemma’s first boyfriend.  He couldn’t resist her cute, kooky charms.

Screenshot-124

He didn’t quite understand her family though, other than his favourite chef, Wesley.  Gemma’s little brother Seth was especially strange, insisting on asking Joel if he was part of some sort of government conspiracy.

Screenshot-157

Being loved up clearly agreed with Joel, as he soon promoted Wesley to a Five-Star Chef.  Having achieved his dream, he left Michael and the family with an amazing fridge and went to live with Jinny and set up a restaurant together.

Screenshot-158

Love wasn’t just in the air for new couples, though.  Amidst all the chaos of their children’s lives, Rae and Michael Kyoti remained just as much in love as they ever were.

Screenshot-169

…and despite both being on the brink of elderhood, there was still as much passion in their marriage as ever.

  1. So… the Heartbreaker LTW then. Here are my top tips…

Play guitar and make lots of friends. Then romance those friends one by one with all the usual interactions. Propose going steady. Break up. Rinse and repeat. The events in this entry cover about five or six sim days at most and Nicola’s already 6/10 of the way there.

It was also handy for Rae, who’s still working on that charisma skilling, because she was able to use a lot of interactions to comfort some of the dumpees and give herself a bit of a skill boost.

PS Sorry if this entry feels a little hard to follow. I’m full of lurgy and can’t think straight so it probably refletcs the state of my brain right now.

  2. DB loves her Mac

It’s not hard to follow at all! Wow, Nicola sure does leave wreck and ruin in her wake, doesn’t she? She takes no prisoners.

LOL @ being loved agreeing with Joel!

Awwwww at Rae and Michael! 🙂

  3. I agree with DB, the entry makes total sense!
Look at Nicola, moving right along. wow. I thought that LTW would be hard for some reason but you make it seem easy 😀
I’m happy for kooky Gemma, even if she has ulterior motives.

    • She doesn’t really, well, a bit, but she just wants an easy life and to avoid evil corporations. She doesn’t want to kill him. At least not at the moment. I still haven’t worked out a plan for Golddigger. I don’t know if she’ll marry Joel yet. She might find a lovely single sim who could be a Jack-of-all-Trades. If so, Joel is gone, baby. But she probably will marry him as rich, J-o-a-T-worthy sims seem thin on the ground and time is ticking on the legacy – the girls are over halfway through their YA lifespan now so not long left to fulfil the last couple of LTWs (JOAT aside, as I’m pretty sure it ain’t gonna happen) and get one or more of them producing Gen 10 before they become elders.

The next update will show you just how quickly Nicola is moving in her LTW. I do have photos of her ‘doing the moves’ on all her partners to prove how she did it, but I thought ten lots of flirting, asking out and dumping (plus a handful of failed attempts) would get very tired very quickly.

  4. I’m rooting for Gemma. I like her.

Nicola… sigh. I mean I know she has to do 10 and all, but why does she seem so gung-ho to do it? lol

    What’s left besides JOAT?

  5. Master Thief (Joseph was one in his career but it wasn’t his LTW) and Swimming in Cash.

I am reasonably confident about these two (well, more than confident about one of them as the next update will show).

Golddigger and Golden Tongue, Golden Fingers are still works in progress, though I’m hoping GTGF will fulfil next gameplay session.

Unless I can get Gemma (or even Nicola/Joanna) a young-adult JOAT spouse in the next play session I’m going to have to write that one off, I think. Still – if I get 31/32 on playing random traits, that’s good going I think.

BTW: if anyone’s done Golddigger, do they have to be rich before marrying in, or would marrying into the Kyotis make them rich and therefore eligible? Cos if it’s the former, most of my mansions are empty or full of Kyoti spares right now and Joel’s the only option unless I townie reseed again – but if it’s the latter, I have a lot more options available…

  6. o_O @ Gemma!!

Haha, i loved her bodaciousness, I would not have expected it from miss conspiracy theory.

    Eish, Nicole is shameless!!

    I’m glad Wesley ended happy:)

  7. This is so interesting, Rad. I never did any of these LTW’s and understand how difficult they may be to incorporate in your storyline. (Like it’s not really Kyoti style, is it?) I think you are doing a really great job and I’ll be definitely coming back here if ever I’m posed with such a challenge 🙂

    • Golddigger is definitely not in the traditional Kyoti style, no wonder it didn’t turn up til the end of the legacy. I have a couple of ideas of how to weave it into the plot, depending on who Gemma marries.
